“This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God.” – Luke 8:11
Every time you share the gospel, you’re planting a seed—and no seed is ever wasted. Even when someone doesn’t respond immediately, God’s Word never returns empty. That conversation, that act of kindness, that moment of vulnerability when you shared your story—it all matters more than you know. Sometimes we hesitate to share our faith because we’re afraid of rejection or because we don’t see immediate results. But transformation is often a process, not a moment. The person who seems uninterested today might remember your words months or years later when they’re facing a crisis and desperately need hope. When we share the gospel with joy rather than obligation, people notice. There’s something contagious about genuine excitement. When we talk about Jesus the way we talk about a movie we loved or a restaurant we can’t stop recommending, people lean in. They want to know what makes us so hopeful, so peaceful, so different. The gospel should be shared with great joy because it is great news! We’re not selling something people don’t need—we’re offering the very thing their hearts are searching for. We’re extending the same love and grace that Jesus extended to us. In a world consumed by selfish ambition and greed, our witness tells a redeeming story. We live differently because we’ve been loved differently. And that difference, lived out with authenticity and shared with words of hope, becomes a beacon of light in a broken world.
Reflection
How can you share the gospel with more joy and less anxiety, trusting God with the results?
Quote
The gospel being shared is never wasted news. Whether they respond to it in the moment or not, it is never wasted. It is a seed into someone’s life.
Prayer
Father, fill me with joy as I share Your good news. Help me trust that every seed planted in Your name will accomplish Your purposes in Your perfect timing.
