Immeasurably More

The older I get, the faster life seems to move. However, over this past month, it has suddenly slowed down.
It was late one night when one test with two small lines flipped our world upside down. We are pregnant, are you kidding?! Time stopped at that moment and has been slow moving as we were waiting for the first doctor’s appointment.
Finally this week we had the opportunity to hear our child’s heartbeat for the first time. Just seeing that written out is a crazy statement. Immediately we felt a love for this child we don’t even know yet. It’s an unbelievable feeling to see the heart beating and a tiny human developing.
A verse that continues to circle back to me over the past year has been Ephesians 3:20.
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us …
I am beginning to realize, for God to do more than I can ask or imagine, I have to let go of how I think it will look. This time last year we would have never expected to be readying our lives to become parents yet here we are. I have to say it’s immeasurably more than we could have ever imagined and so much better.
We are excited to announce we have a baby on the way this October!
