‘Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.’ – Acts 2:41

Throughout Scripture, we see a beautiful pattern: people believed in Jesus and were immediately baptized. The Ethiopian eunuch didn’t wait for a baptism class. The Philippian jailer didn’t postpone until he felt more prepared. Three thousand people were baptized on the day of Pentecost without delay. Yet many of us have been saved for months, years, or even decades without taking this step. We tell ourselves we need to get our lives together first, understand more theology, or wait for the right moment. But here’s the truth: you’ll never feel completely ready, and your life will never be perfectly together. Baptism isn’t about your perfection—it’s about Christ’s. It’s not about having all the answers—it’s about saying yes to the One who does. Delayed obedience often becomes disobedience, robbing us of the joy and growth that comes from following Christ wholeheartedly. The enemy loves to whisper reasons to wait, but God’s invitation is clear: don’t delay, obey.

Reflection
What excuses have you been making to delay obedience in areas where God has clearly spoken to your heart?

Quote
Stop trying to get your life together before you start living for Jesus.

Prayer
Lord, forgive me for the times I’ve delayed obedience. Give me the courage to step forward in faith, trusting You more than my fears or excuses.
